Tiny Turkey is too tiny to be cooked! Or is he?
Surprise! Another pattern! I should do this more often...this Tiny Turkey is a great décor for Thanksgiving, and a great tiny toy! But keep it away from young children...) Enjoy! :D
Picture
Hey guys! You wouldn't want to eat me, okay? I'm too tiny for you! Heeheehee...the benefits of being tiny!
Picture
WHAT? You don't care? Anyways, I don't taste good. I taste like yarn. I'm also alive. You don't like raw turkey, do you? Even worse: Alive Turkey!
Picture
You've got to be kidding me. You'll eat me anyway? What if I told you I was a knitted fall flower? I'm too beautiful to be in your Thanksgiving Feast.

Yarn:

Fingering-weight yarn in multiple fall colors:
  •    Brown: Body
  •    Red, Orange, Red-Orange, etc: Feathers
  •    Yellow: Beak
  •    Black: Eyes

Additional Supplies:

- Size 0 or 1 (2-2.25 mm) DPNs (Double-Pointed Knitting Needles)
-Stuffing
-A tapestry needle
-Scissors

Difficulty:
Intermediate- This is because there are a few appendages to be joined and attached to such a tiny turkey. Don't worry, though. It's still doable. :)

Finished Size:
If made with recommended yarn and needles, Tiny Turkey will be a little bigger than 1''. (About 3 cm.)

For a list of abbreviations I used, click here.

Pattern:

Body:
With Brown, CO 6 sts onto three needles and join in a round.
Rnd#1: [Kfb] 6 times (12 sts)
Rnds#2-4: Knit.
Rnd#5: [K2tog, k2] 3 times (9 sts)
Rnd#6: [Kfb] 9 times (18 sts)
Rnds#7-9: Knit.
Rnd#10: [K2tog, k2, k2tog] 3 times (12 sts)
Stuff the turkey with your stuffing! (Get it?)
Rnd#11: [K2tog] 6 times (6 sts)
Cut the yarn, and thread it tightly through the sts with a tapestry needle.

Features:
Eyes: With Black, embroider the eyes using one tiny stitch for each eye; placed about 2 sts apart.
Beak: With Yellow, embroider the beak by continuously wrapping the yarn around 1 stitch for 4 times.

Feet:
Also with Yellow, CO 1 stitch onto one needle to work as an icord. Knit 7 rows as if it were normal rows, (but with only 1 stitch) then pull the yarn through the loop with a tapestry needle. (Instead of knitting the feet, you can also chain 7 sts with a crochet hook.) After that, with your tapestry needle still threaded, thread the work through the bottom of the body, making each leg even with the other one. Weave in the loose ends.

Feathers:
With any of your fall-colored yarn you have, you can use to make the feathers. With your fall-colored yarn, CO 10 sts onto one needle to work straight.
Starting with a knit row, work 4 rows in stockinette stitch, ending with a purl row. After that, bind off, leaving a tail for seaming. Make 3 more feathers, but in different colors if you want. After that, with one of the yarn tails, string the feathers altogether (?), and seam the first half of each feather together with the remaining tails (*). Then, seam the turkey body to the feathers.

Finishing:
Weave in any of the loose ends.

Enjoy your Tiny Turkey! Hope he doesn't get eaten!
:D (Heehee... you really shouldn't eat him. He tastes bland like yarn...)
-Tiny ^-^

Here are the supplies you need!
Picture
(?): Gather all the feathers together and string them on a tail of yarn.
Picture
(*): After that, seam only the first half of each feather together to make the feathers more stable.

    About Me:

Hey guys it's Phia! Welcome to my little online world. I'm a 15 year-old knitter and crocheter that especially loves making tiny things. I also enjoy dance, drawing, writing, photography, kawaii stuff...well there's more cuz it's a long list. You might occasionally see some of those things on here too. Oh yeah, and if you couldn't guess, my favorite color is orange. ^-^
I try to design my own patterns every now and then...I'm currently in the tiny amigurumi field.

As you are following this blog, beware of my extreme procrastination. I used to laugh at this but it's a serious issue.
