Micro World!

Around the world, there are probably a zillion things miniaturized, or so it seems. Here are a few pictures I took of the world's everyday objects shrunken down.

I was at a Japanese store and I saw this tiny little alarm clock. Isn't it cute? It actually worked, too! It might not be the smallest alarm clock in the world, but it's pretty tiny, don't you think?

Ok, this is a really tiny Horton Hears a Who book. The cool thing is you can actually read it! Maybe with a magnifying glass of course, unless you have those really good eyes that can see the tiny little dots that make up the pictures on a magazine or newspaper.

Ok, everyone! The moment you have been waiting for, Tiny Washcloth! You can scale the pattern up or down, add more stitches or rows, or use multi-colored yarn, which in my opinion, looks really cool. This pattern is for anyone, but especially for someone who just learned the basics of knitting, and is about to enter the amazing world of tiny...

Tiny Washcloth Pattern:

Picture
For the Tiny Washcloth Pattern, you will need:
-Size 1 knitting needles (2.25 mm)
-Color #1: Fingering-weight yarn in any color you want (for the washcloth)
-Color #2: Fingering-weight yarn in black (for the eyes)

The finished size will be somewhere around an inch, or a little less than that.
Note: If the finished item doesn't come out in a square, you can add more rows.
Washcloth: With color #1: CO 7 stitches onto 1 needle to work straight. Knit 8 rows. BO all stitches.
Features: With color #2: Using the black yarn, embroider eyes using two vertical stitches for each eye, placing them just below the bind-off row in the bumpy parts. They should be about a stitch apart.
Finishing: Weave in loose ends.

There are personalities in every toy you knit, or so it seems. I'm making a bunch of little profiles and putting it in the "Tiny, Friends, & More" section. I made Tiny and Baby Chickie (B.C.) from my own patterns I made. Mother Hen, Teensy, and Monkey were made from patterns from my favorite knitting book, Teeny-Tiny Mochimochi by Anna Hrachovec!

    About Me:

Hey guys it's Phia! Welcome to my little online world. I'm a 15 year-old knitter and crocheter that especially loves making tiny things. I also enjoy dance, drawing, writing, photography, kawaii stuff...well there's more cuz it's a long list. You might occasionally see some of those things on here too. Oh yeah, and if you couldn't guess, my favorite color is orange. ^-^
I try to design my own patterns every now and then...I'm currently in the tiny amigurumi field.

As you are following this blog, beware of my extreme procrastination. I used to laugh at this but it's a serious issue.

Aaaand...if you're curious of my photography and stuff you could check out my Flickr if ya want. :)
