This this was supposed to be a bar of soap, but I kind of messed up (a long time ago) and instead turned it into the fantastic colorful mystical mouse, known as the Pixibun! Alas, the last pattern released on 2014! Enjoy! ^_^
Does that make you any more excited to make one? Either way...
- Scraps of fingering-weight yarn in 5 colors:
2 Bright(ish) Colors: Ears
Pink(ish): Nose/Mouth
Black: Eyes
Additional Supplies:
- 1 size B crochet hook (2.25 mm)
- A tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Stuffing
Finished Size:
If made with the recommended yarn and hook, your Tiny Pixibun will measure about an inch long (from nose to tail) and about half an inch across from ear-to-ear.
Notes:
This pattern uses non-continuous rounds joined with a slip st.
A Pixibun is a mystical mouse! (More info here; bottom half of page.) Feel free to change the colors up, or even make the awesome original house mouse.
Scale the pattern up or down using a thinner or thicker hook and matching-sized yarn if you would like! The bigger Pixibun (Pixi) was made with slightly thicker yarn and the same hook recommended.
Be sure to keep the finished item away from young children, it may be a choking hazard.

Ears (Make 2): With 2 of your brighter (or at least kind-of bright) colors, make the ears.
Ch 4, and sc in the 4th st from the hook. Sc once more, and FO, leaving a tail for attaching. Repeat in a different color, or the same, if you would like.
Nose: With your pink(ish) color, embroider 1 st placed about in the middle of the face, below the two eyes.
Tail: Choose one of your brighter colors, and embroider the tail by continuously wrapping the yarn around a stitch in the back of the body.
Finishing:
Using your tapestry needle, attach the ears on each side of the top of the head, above the eyes using the remaining tail of yarn.
Weave in any loose ends.
You're finished! Have loads of fun with your pet Pixibun! Or mouse!
