Knitting Pattern: Tiny Chicks!

Hello again, and surprise! Happy Easter! The Tiny Chicks Pattern was the first knitting pattern I ever made and published! I put it on here as a word document, and it needed a little editing, so it was in construction for a while.
This is a great decor and toy, but be careful having this around young children because it may be a choking hazard.
Feel free to sell items made from this pattern, or share this pattern, but please don't sell the pattern itself, and don't claim the pattern as your own. Thanks! Enjoy, and have a Happy Easter!
This adorable decor/toy is quick to make, and it also is really tiny!

Hey, look! I think the eggs are hatching pretty soon! I see a little bird's beak!

Goodness, they are hatching!!! They grow up so fast! Wait, I'm seeing pink here...

Wow! There is a pink and a yellow one! Aren't they cute?

For the Tiny Chicks Pattern, you need:

-Fingering weight yarn in four colors:
   Yellow......................................Body
Light Brown, or just brown...... Egg
   Black........................................Eyes
   Orange....................................Beak
-Size 0 or 1 (2-2.25 mm) double-pointed knitting needles
-A small tapestry needle
-Scissors
Difficulty:
Easy
This is because it uses basic and simple techniques.
Note: You can change the color choice if you would like! You can also choose to scale the size up or down using thinner or thicker needles and matching yarn.
Finished Size:
If you used the recommended yarn and needles, the finished size for the chick itself should be around 1 centimeter. With the eggshell on, it should be about an inch.

Have fun and happy crafting!

Pattern:

Body:
Cast on 4 stitches onto 1 needle to work in an icord.
Round #1: Knit.
Round #2: [Kfb, K1] 2 times (6 sts)
Distribute the stitches onto three needles to join in a round.
Rounds #3-4: Knit.
Cut the yarn and thread it tightly through the stitches with the tapestry needle.

Features:
Eyes: With the black yarn, embroider 2 eyes using 1 tiny stitch (Half a knit stitch) for each eye, and make
them about on knit stitch apart.
Beak: With the orange yarn, embroider 2 long stitches (1 knit stitch) between and below the eyes.

If you want to have an eggshell, you can continue. If not, weave in the loose ends. :)

Eggshells (Make 2):
CO 6 sts onto three dpns and join in a round.
Round#1: [Kfb, k1] (9 sts)
Round#2: Knit.
Round#3: [K1, kfb, k1.] 3 times. (12 sts)
Rounds#4-5: Knit.
BO all of the stitches.

Finishing: Put the two eggshells together to form an opened-up egg. Seam both pieces together just a tiny bit so the eggshell can open. Cut the yarn, and weave in all the loose ends. Place your baby chick into the egg.
Enjoy your baby chick! Try to make them in a variety of colors, and have a Happy Easter and Spring!

    About Me:

Hey guys it's Phia! Welcome to my little online world. I'm a 15 year-old knitter and crocheter that especially loves making tiny things. I also enjoy dance, drawing, writing, photography, kawaii stuff...well there's more cuz it's a long list. You might occasionally see some of those things on here too. Oh yeah, and if you couldn't guess, my favorite color is orange. ^-^
I try to design my own patterns every now and then...I'm currently in the tiny amigurumi field.

As you are following this blog, beware of my extreme procrastination. I used to laugh at this but it's a serious issue.

Aaaand...if you're curious of my photography and stuff you could check out my Flickr if ya want. :)
